Now that the cold, wintry weather is behind us, follow these simple tips below to transform your garden just in time for spring.

Get Rid of the Old
The best method to make way for new planting is to remove the old plants that have not made it through the winter or have come to the end of their flowering days. Clearing and tidying up the flower beds will instantly brighten up your garden.

New Planting
With any new planting decide on the feel you want. Contemporary, traditional, cottage or natural are some options. Choose suitable plans that radiate that look by visiting your local garden centre. If you own a garden more on the bijou side, hanging baskets and planting in terracotta pots or recycled barrels can transform a small space in to a tranquil haven. Try mixing textures by paying attention to the plant characteristics such as form, leaf texture, leaf colour, leaf form and play them off one another.

Cleaning up Paving
It is always underestimated the difference that a simple spruce up of the paving can make to a garden. If you do not own a pressure washer, renting one is a perfect compromise as it will save you time and effort and produce sparkling results.

Get into Shape
A freshly cut and pruned hedge will always smarted up any garden. If you have hedges leading to the entrance of you home, always try and keep them clipped and tidy to give the best first impression.
